TRAILBLAZERS COMBINED TRAINING

The competitions consist of riders competing in two disciplines, dressage and showjumping, for ponies 148cms and under and horses over 148cms. 

Class 1   Preliminary dressage test with showjumping up to 65cms
Class 2   A different Preliminary dressage test with showjumping up to 75cms.
Class 3   Novice dressage test with showjumping up to 75cms
Class 4   A different Novice dressage test with showjumping up to 85cms
Class 5   Any Elementary dressage test with showjumping up to 85cms

RULE AMMENDMENT.
Change to the eligibility for Combined Training Classes 2011 – 2012 series.

Please note change:-
Class 1 (Prelim & SJ 65cms), Class 2 (Prelim & SJ 75cms) and Class 3 (Novice & SJ 75cms) are ‘RESTRICTED’ classes using the Trailblazers Rules regarding Dressage and Showjumping (especially BD points & BS winnings/grades).

Class 4 (Novice & SJ 85cms) and Class 5 (Elementary & 85cms) are now ‘OPEN’ classes with no restrictions on BD points or BS pony/horse grade (including participation by JA ponies and Grade A & B horses).

COMBINED TRAINING INFORMATION

Combined training consists of a dressage test and a one round against the clock showjumping. Dressage section of the competition as per Trailblazers dressage rules. Showjumping section as per Trailblazers showjumping rules.  - T1 one round against the clock. Once the dressage has been completed the competitor does the showjumping, any faults in the showjumping section are deducted from the dressage score to dictate the winner.  In the event of an equal placing the showjumping time decides the winner.

CLARIFICATION OF HEIGHTS AND AGES.

Any age rider will be allowed to ride any height, horse or pony as long as the partnership is compatible.
The judges ruling on this is final and no refunds will be given. A rider can compete more than one horse/pony at any height. 

The same partnership must ride both elements of the competition.

 

HOW TO QUALIFY FOR THE SECOND ROUNDS.

At Trailblazers first round Combined Training competitions, competitors are awarded a qualification pack towards the second round competitions, if they achieve a top five placing in each class.

 

SECOND ROUND COMBINED TRAINING.

Every centre can run only one Second Round at each level they have run 1st rounds at over the series, and you need to have qualified at that level to enter.  If you have qualified at that level and taken up that Qualification you can choose which centre you wish to go to for your Second Round, it does not have to be the centre you qualified at. 

QUALIFICATION AT THE SECOND ROUNDS FOR SPILLERS® NATIONAL COMBINED TRAINING CHAMPIONSHIPS.
There will be 6 competitors to qualify for the 2012 Finals from each level, for both horses and ponies.
