Trailblazers is delighted that RoR have donated awards to the highest placed thoroughbred ex-racehorse in the Trailblazer line up.  The horse must have been registered in Weatherbys General Stud Book and bred in UK/EIRE.  A copy of the horse's passport must be brought to the show and be available for inspection at the Championships to qualify for the prize.  If you have not put on your entry form that you have entered an ex- racehorse please email the office.  If you have a question regarding RoR please contact RoR. www.ror.org.uk

For many competitors this will be the first time you have been to a Prestigious National Championships and the first time you have stayed away from home.  If you are wondering what you may need to take with you click here for some ideas that you may find useful.

2009 - The dressage will take place over 2 days on the Tuesday and the Wednesday and every competitor will compete on both days.  The classes on the Tuesday will be split into sections depending on the numbers entered, depending where you come on Tuesday will determine whether you go forward into the Championship ride off or to a consolation ride off.  Every section on the Tuesday will have its own mounted prize giving with rosettes to 10th place and every class on the Wednesday will again have its own mounted prize giving with rosettes to 10th place.  This means even if you come 11th or 12th on the Wednesday you will have another opportunity on the Thursday to achieve a top 10 place.

Please note that we will start at around 8.00am each morning and finish around 7pm each evening and as classes are split into sections it does not necessarily mean that all the preliminary tests will start first and all the elementary tests will be in the afternoon.  The sections will be allocated to the arenas at the times that allow for the smooth running of the Championship.

The dressage tests at the 2008 Championships are:-
Juniors  Preliminary 10 (2002) - both days
              Novice 27 (2007) - both days
              Elementary 42 (2008) - both days
Seniors Wednesday P12 (2005), N 25 (2005), E50 (2007) and on the Thursday the same tests as the juniors.

We are all looking forward to the Trailblazers Finals at Stoneleigh Park at the end of July.  The dressage is on the Tuesday and Wednesday nd every competitor will ride on both days.  There will be 6 arenas on the magnificent Equine Arena at Stoneleigh with a 15 minute warm up area next door.  For competitors who wish to work in for longer there is a second warm up arena at the end of the horse walk, and 15 minutes before your test time go up the horse walk to the 15 minute box.  There will be stewards in the 15 minute box to call you forward for your test.  The time allocated for your test is the time you should be entering at 'A' and trotting up that Centre line not the time you leave the warm up arena. You are allowed whips at the Finals but no callers because with 6 arenas going at one time it would be too confusing.  The two working in arenas will be open on Monday afternoon between 3pm and 7.30pm .

Only permitted tack is allowed for the working in as allowed for the test itself, no draw reins or gadgets etc.  Boots/bandages are allowed for the working in.

A horse/pony may only be worked in by the person who is due to compete it.

Please make sure you pass left to left in the working in when meeting another rider coming in the opposite direction unless they are in counter canter in which case you should give way by circling.
Please ensure your whip does not disturb other horses.
There should be no walking or halting on the outside track and always leave room for other riders to pass.
Trainers and helpers are not allowed in the working in area unless you need help adjusting your tack.
Please make sure that you are always looking where you are going and that you are aware of the other horses working in and what they are doing.  If you wish to change direction or pace please make sure there is plenty of room for you to do so. Too many riders appear to ride as they are the only person in the working in, your horse might be used to working very close to other horses but many horses do not come from busy livery yards, or may be very young.  Please have respect for the other competitors and their space - and good luck in your competing.

All tests are ridden on a surface, and there are two large warm up areas on a surface

There will be a Show Jumping Practice day on Friday 1st August open to both juniors and seniors who have qualified for the Trailblazers Show Jumping Championships.  This practice day will offer open classes which will consist of 70cm, 80cm, 90cm and 1 metre.

The Trailblazers show jumping Championship classes will take place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August, 2008.  The practice day was very successful brand new option in 2007 if you wish to jump warm up classes, but of course you can just come for the Saturday and Sunday if you are a qualified combination and do not want to jump in the warm up classes.  This gives qualified combinations a wonderful opportunity to compete for 3 days at Stoneleigh park on their fabulous equine arena with one practice day and 2 Championship days and with more time to enjoy the disco in the evening.

Every show jumping competitor will jump on both the Saturday and the Sunday even if they are eliminated on the Saturday they will still jump in the class on Sunday.
The class on Saturday is a separate class with its own mounted prize giving placed 1st to 10th place.  Sunday is a separate class with its own mounted prize giving placed 1st to 10th place.  The Championship is decided by the TOTAL score of Saturdays 1st Round and Sundays 1st Round added together.  If there is a tie competitors will be placed according to their faults and times in Sundays jump off round.

All the show jumping takes place on a surface.

The Trailblazers National Championships take place at the N.A,C, Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth, Nr Coventry, Warwickshire CV8 2LZ their website is www.nacstoneleighpark.com  Please click here to link to Google map. www.maps.google.com and type in CV8 2LZ.

Every competitor must send an SAE in with their entry form this is to return your Confirmation of Entry Card to you.  This will let you know that we have safely received your entry, so there is no need to send your entries recorded delivery incurring extra cost.  You will need to keep this card safe and bring it with you to the Finals at Stoneleigh Park.  Every card will have a number on it this number refers to your entry form and to you.  When you arrive at the show you will need to show this card to the Stable Manager as it also refers to your stable booking.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CONFIRMATION OF ENTRY CARD REFERS TO YOUR ENTRY FORM NUMBER NOT TO THE NUMBER OF YOUR STABLE.  EVERY ENTRY FORM IS GIVEN A NUMBER WHEN IT ARRIVES IN THE OFFICE AND THIS IS THE SAME NUMBER THAT WILL SHOW ON YOUR CONFIRMATION OF ENTRY CARD, IF YOU ARE BRINGING 4 HORSES YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE 4 CARDS IF YOU ONLY SENT ONE ENTRY FORM.
PLEASE NOTE
1.  Your Confirmation of entry number is not your stable number
2. Your Confirmation of Entry number is not your bridle number
3. Your Confirmation of Entry number is not your competition number
4, Your Confirmation of Entry number is not your start number.

This number will help us find your stable booking, your shavings order and your entry form and lets you know that we have received your entry.

Multiple Qualifications
Any competitor qualifying the same horse/pony for more than two Show Jumping or Dressage Championships, will only be allowed to enter TWO Championship classes in each discipline at the Championships

All the stables are temporary and you will need to bring with you all the equipment to muck out your stable.  If you come with friends you can always share your mucking out equipment..  There are as many stables as we need but you must order your stable on your entry form before the closing date which is 2nd July, 2008.  We will order as many stables as competitors have booked.

Please bring with you all the hay/haylage your horse/pony will need for the duration of your stay.  Plus any feed (nuts/mix)  your pony/horse will need, it is important that your horse/pony does not have a sudden change in his/her diet.

There are showers and toilets at Stoneleigh Park and you are welcome to bring a tent and camp at no extra charge.

There is no electric hook up at Stoneleigh Park, only generators built into horse boxes are allowed.  Portable generators of any kind will NOT be permitted.  No generators to be used after 11pm.

We do not put shavings in the stables this gives you the choice whether your bring your own or order them on the form included with your entry form

The entry fee for 2008 show jumping Championship class is £50.00 this enters you for both Saturday and Sunday, it is £25.00 for each class and everybody competes both days.

The entry fee for the 2008 dressage Championship is £46.00 this enters you for both Wednesday and Thursday, it is £23.00 for each class and everybody competes both days.

All entry fees  include VAT at 17.5% - unfortunately we have to be registered for VAT as VAT is payable on turnover not profit and the show costs us so much to put on.   17.5% of the entry fees you pay go to the tax man.

Maintenance Fee - We have had to introduce a maintenance fee on the entry forms this is to cover the maintenance fee that Stoneleigh Park charge us for emptying the bins, cleaning the toilets, sweeping the walkways, cleaning the parking area and camping area and clearing away all the horse muck.  After the show is finished they walk round the site and depending on what needs doing charge us to put back Stoneleigh Park to the condition it was before we arrived.

Car parking - The car parking is per competitor not per wagon..  There are people at Stoneleigh to show you where to park and camp whether you are staying overnight or a day competitor these people stand out in all conditions up to 10.30pm at night when the gate closes.  Unfortunately these people do want to eat and sleep, I know that may seem odd to some people  - your parking fee enables these kind people to do this.  They also do require some expenses - I for one would not like to do their job
